Touch Project

"Our skin is what stands between us and the world."
A Natural History of the Senses, Diane Ackerman p.70

8.5x6.5in Shot on DSLR. Edited in Adobe Lightroom

This photo series was shot on a DSLR camera. I shot indoors with the use of natural warm lighting. I had my model lay on the couch in front of the bright window. I wanted to capture the lighthearted moments we experience in our homes. Our homes are what protects us and our belongings from the outside world, much like our skin protects what is inside our body.

We call our emotions feelings, and we care most deeply when something "touches" us."

5x8.5in Shot on DSLR. Edited in Lightroom

This photo series was shot on a DSLR camera. I shot outdoors and placed a large mirror flat on the floor. I had my model sit next to the mirror so I could capture her reflection. My concept for these photos was to show how you can touch someone emotionally but not physically. The reflection represents the memory you leave behind in someone's mind long after you are gone.
